Tonight, my mom prepared spinach and we were discussing what spices go well with spinach. I google'd a bit and I found 'nutmeg' on some sites, but it seems like a strange combo to me.
Honestly, I have no idea, so help me out please :)

Nutmeg works in lots of places you might not expect, and it's a really popular addition to cream/bechamel sauces like you'd find on creamed spinach. Other things that are classic with spinach:

There are some brilliant Indian dishes that involve spinach. They's normally have "palak" in the name, like Palak Paneer or Aloo Palak. They use Cumin, cloves, garlic and cardamom to great effect. And the spinach just loves it. If you want it fresh, Roquefort is brilliant in a salad with spinach, green apples and a simple vinnaigrette sauce. |
