Is it possible to make something with protein powder that is actually tasty? Like a protein brownie or cookie or muffin or something? A dessert that is good for you would be perfect.

I've looked around the internet for some good protein bar recipes, and every one I've tried barely resembles food, and tastes something like an old dried up sponge.

The powder I use comes in several flavors including vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry but you can get fancy with flavors like cookies 'n cream. Then I dissolve it in milk and basically have chocolate milk (or whatever flavor).

I want brownies, muffins for breakfast, crunchy choclate peanut butter bars etc. With little to no sugar.

How can I do this?

I read the faq. I am a bad cook. I want to know how to use protein powder as a baking ingredient basically. I've tried making things with it but they don't turn out. Where would it be appropriate to ask this question? I figured since this is where the good cooks hang out, it would be a good place to ask a cooking question. Is there a baking SE site that I should use instead? – MikeJerome Feb 1 '12 at 20:54

@hobodave Or how could I reword this question to make it on topic? – MikeJerome Feb 1 '12 at 20:56

I think a way you can reword the question is ask what you need to take out from a generic brownie recipe(or you can even look up a brownie recipe and post that) and replace with the protein powder to create a cohesive result that resemble a regular brownie. You worded it so that we would give you a complete recipe which is why it was close. Good luck! – Jay Feb 1 '12 at 21:04

What Jay says is on point. In addition, come back to us with a specific problem is needed. In the current form this question is simply "Give me all your recipes!". A much better question would be "I have done X ..., and need help with ..." or "I want to do X ..., but am concerned about ...". – hobodave Feb 1 '12 at 21:35
