Our kid is 10 yo and has to stay home alone during the afternoon as we both are working and there's nobody else to take care of him.
Can you suggest some simple cold meals we could leave him to eat, not involving heating of any kind?

You could easily mix up chicken, seafood, egg or tuna salad and leave it in the fridge. That way he can put some in bread or wrap. I always mix the mayonnaise/etc directly into the salad so its really simple to put on the bread. This all depends on what your kid likes to eat. For instance I like my pizza cold and my husband doesn't.... there may be other foods out there that are ok cold. Once when I didn't have access to a microwave I ate my leftover pasta (with alfredo sauce and chicken) cold and it was pretty good. Just change it up so they don't get tired of one idea. |
