I am interested in drying fruit, but just for the bird feeding purpose. I saw the question already posted how someones fruit possibly was tasting "burnt" with using the dehydrator and I would like to avoid this. Is it really necessary to use the dehydrator or should I just be using the oven? If using the oven, how long would you suggest and on what temperature?

Although Sobachatina is probably right, there are a few different viable drying fruit. Three methods of drying are by sun, oven or a dehydrator. The latter is probably most efficient because you can have it on a timer which means you can set it and go about whatever else you need to do for the day or some hours. Overall I believe it is a matter of preference and time. |
