I made Key Lime Pie the other day for the first time and was amazed how easy it was to do so. When I took ingredients out of the cupboard I saw a bag of chocolate mini morsels hiding from me in there. Has anyone tried chocolate in Key Lime Pie?

I would think the contrast between the tart key lime juice and the chocolate (if in moderation) might be interesting.

If we only asked questions when we couldn't find the answers through experimentation or by using Google then there would be no questions here at all. Sure this might be a simple question to test but perhaps someone has some experience or insight on the subject. – Sobachatina Oct 3 '12 at 21:40

It's more that if the OP actually has key lime pie, it's a very easy experiment, so I'd expect he would've just tried it. So maybe he did and there's some reason he's still asking, or maybe he didn't for some other relevant reason? But sure, if anyone has special advice for what's good and bad when combining key lime and chocolate, that's cool. – Jefromi♦ Oct 3 '12 at 22:54

@Sobachatina There is a lot of different Key Lime Pie recipes. A bite test of some chocolate and his recipe should have been the starting point. Otherwise this is a recipe request – TFD Oct 3 '12 at 22:54

I think the problem here is that an opinion is pretty much useless. I might answer "I tried chocolate and key lime pie and it was good", but it's subjective, not objective; you might hate it. So what was the point in me answering? For what it's worth, dark chocolate and lime does go very well, so it should work well. – ElendilTheTall Oct 4 '12 at 8:29
