comment How can I make my Oreos crispy again?
I would think that anything that dries out the cookie part will dry out the filling too :(

comment Blender Buying - Square vs. Round Container
Exactly. Gotta have those baffles to keep the flow from staying stuck to the outer edge of the container.

comment What do you use to make tzatziki sauce? Garlic or onions?
Can pour a whole tub of yogurt in a large coffee filter inside a funnel too. Let drain overnight and you're good to go. Oh, and you MUST squeeze all the water out of the cucumbers too.

comment What Kind of Frosting Doesn't Need To Be Refrigerated?
lol - uh, I meant in the general sense of "not-processed". If it's processed, like Hydrogenated Oil, it's usually designed to have a long shelf-life. So real = butter, eggs, milk, lard. Not real = high fructose corn syrup, guar gum, crisco, etc.

comment What's the numbering system for spaghetti and does it matter?
True enough. Can't believe everything you read on the internet. But Michael's answer seems to reinforce the notion.

comment What is the chemical process behind the way you cook a risotto?
Agreed. Keep the liquid hot. You don't want the temp to drop every time you add it.

comment Why do I need more time and liquid than my risotto recipe calls for?
The different brands of arborio seem to have an effect as well.

comment Why do my hamburgers smoke?
Also, by adding holes, your encouraging dry/tough burgers. Once all the moisture is gone, that's when it will start smoking because the temperature of the outside of the meat goes through the roof.

comment How to know when chicken breast has cooked through?
Thermometer will prevent you from over cooking too. Once it's over 170 for white, 180 for dark, it's too late...

comment Any tips for ways to cook chicken breast for recipes that call for shredded chicken?
The absolute key is to make sure you remove the chicken once it reaches an internal temperature around 160F. I use one of those temp probes that uses a long wire to a readout. This works great for roasting as well. If you don't overcook, it won't be dried out and nasty.
