When is it necessary to put foil over a pie's crust? Sometimes the crust around the edge cooks faster since there is only pie tin below it. This may vary based on the tin you use and how you shape your crust. So the answer to your question is, "it depends." |

How to make smooth ice cream flavored with fresh fruit? When you say smooth ice cream, do you mean that you don't want chunks of fruit? That is, you want to just extract the flavor from the fruit? |

Can I use aluminum foil as a substitute for parchment paper? I'm guessing that aluminum foil would have a very different "heating profile" (I'm not sure that's a real term) than parchment paper and probably wouldn't make a good substitute. |

Can a Toddler Eat Food Cooked With Honey in it? I wonder if the honey in a commercial product is processed to remove any botulism toxin. Maybe somebody from Nabisco will chime in, I don't see anything on their web site. |

For Pizza cooking at home. What is the best alternative to the pizza stone? +1 - That's got to work at least as well as unglazed quarry tile! |

For Pizza cooking at home. What is the best alternative to the pizza stone? LOL, because unglazed quarry tile is so much more common than pizza stones. I guess the original poster didn't specify why =P |

Can water in which pasta was cooked be used to make gravy? I think that ergodicsum is talking about loosening the bits in the bottom of the pan using the pasta water. |

What is a substitute for celery root in a soup? Gary is on the mark. The answer may depend on how prominent an ingredient the celery root is. |
