comment Does stainless steel affect garlic flavors in food?
So, just to be clear, the question isn't so much about whether stainless steel can help remove garlic smells from your hands, but rather whether cooking foods containing garlic in stainless steel has any impact on flavor. And, of course, I'm looking for evidence-based answers or pointers to research rather than opinions or guesses.

comment Stainless steel pan too hot?
Guessing you mean "submerged in oil" above. I've never heard of anything getting a nice crispy crust when cooked in water.

comment how to stretch white chocolate to make truffles?
@Brendan stretch in this context means to add some other ingredient to increase the volume of chocolate. When you stretch something you make it go farther. Nothing to do with actual elasticity, melting, etc.

comment Replacing egg whites with whole eggs when baking cookies
If you don't want to waste the yolks (which at the end of the day might have cost you 50 cents), do something else with them. Homemade mayonnaise is delicious and only takes a couple minutes to make in a food processor.

comment Is it safe to put hot food in the fridge?
Many newer refrigerators now sport a 'max cool' or 'turbo cool' option which you can activate to keep the fridge cool after you've put something hot inside. Your hot pot of stock still may not cool down fast enough to satisfy food inspectors, but it'll help, and it'll keep the rest of the food from warming up.
