comment How can I cut a tomato without a knife?
Apparently button factories prohibit having a knife (see @philip's user info) :D

comment How can I get gross, bloody stumps in my Halloween punch?
Marzipan comes to mind. It is malleable and keeps form well and can be colored with any amount of chocolate powder to achieve the skin color you desire. The cut surface can be colored red (not sure what colorant to use) and the bone left uncolored.

comment Ate steak with the layer of fat kind of undercooked, is it dangerous?
@CareyGregory: are farmed cattle somehow immune from parasites?

comment Does vinegar have the same function as tartaric acid in a pavlova?
I would replace vinegar with tartaric or citric acid, to rid the meringue of vinegary taste.

comment Ate steak with the layer of fat kind of undercooked, is it dangerous?
It did not, however, kill the possible parasites embedded within the meat. Just saying

comment Why is it necessary for Turkish Coffee to start brewing with cold water?
So the aroma is richer. Coffee particles have more time to soak in the solvent (water).

comment Is it best to slice roast meat if eating the next day?
Cut meat only before consuming. Cutting => increasing surface area => shortening its shelf file, making it dry out fast

comment Chinese alternative to Olive Oil?
Using extra virgin olive oil as a mere heat conductor for garlic seems wasteful to me. Why not use sunflower/vegetable oil?

comment Chinese alternative to Olive Oil?
+1 supermarket extra virgin olive oil burns quickly, which is why I only fry on refined sunflower oil

comment How to protect honey jar from ants?
Water jar defense is easily defeated by winged ant foragers (they are built once a year by many/most ant colonies)

Probably invisible, but you will definitely taste it.

comment What is ground beef?
Chopped is not the same, meat particles in minced/ground beef are much smaller than in chopped beef. Chopping can be performed with a chopping knife, and mincing cannot :)

comment Why is it advised to freeze meat before eating as opposed to eating it fresh?
About beef not being host. Beef tapeworm?

comment Can vegetable enzymes kill yeast?
+1 for duplicate, and the problem is the same: yeast does not tolerate acidic environment very well. Maybe it is possible to add the acidic juices after the bread has risen?

comment Cure for burns from hot peppers / capsicum oil?
+1 for vegetable oil because vodka is 40% ethanol, very harsh for your skin. Capsaicin is soluble in most non-polar solvents, which includes both oils and alcohols.

comment Storage of Pecorino cheese — is room temperature ok?
Thank you! Does the hard cheese require a sealed bag, or is a non-airtight plastic bag OK?

comment Storage of Pecorino cheese — is room temperature ok?
Parmesan and Pecorino are made of different kinds of milk (cow and sheep respectively), so I posted a new question in case storage procedures for products from sheep milk differ from cow milk products.

comment Create hot “sauce” from capsaicin extract
@Marti thanks for the info. The numbers seem to be a bit high, but stil if you evaporate 60% technically you evaporate most of the alcohol :)
