comment What can I do to fix/improve a dry cake?
Add a few tablespoons of water and oil to the cake mix to make it moister. Try baking it with less time. Try using a few tablespoons less flour.

Couldn't you put it in a baking sheet and put it in the oven at low to dehydrate it without over-cooking?

comment How much water does pasta absorb when it is cooked?
Cool, I'm going to try that. Should give the pasta more flavor and even coating. To only use one pot, I just put the glass jar of pasta sauce directly on the gas burner, open the lid, gently put the lid over the top, and turn the burner on low.

comment Normal lifetime of non-stick teflon pans
I got tired of my Teflon wearing out so I got a cast iron skillet. It's been pretty awesome, but the manual cleaning is a bit of a pain. Also consider stainless steel.

Olives are fruits. Also, don't use olive oil or any strong flavor oil. Neutral oils only. I tried to use olive oil once. It didn't taste good.

comment What went wrong with my brownies?
You don't have to add dry ingredients to wet ingredients! You can mix the dry first. It's easier to mix the dry ingredients when they are dry. I always mix the dry first then add wet. It's easy to see when the dry is mixed also because it will be one color without spots.

comment Is Teflon dangerous?
Inductions works on magnetic metals only, like steel. Titanium is not magnetic so that is why it takes forever. It must have some steel to be heating at all. Sometimes pans encapsulate steel in the bottom.

comment Why don't they sell frozen tomatoes like other frozen vegetables and fruits?
@rumtscho I actually love sun-dried tomatoes! That's a great idea! I will use those in my guac from now on.

comment Why don't they sell frozen tomatoes like other frozen vegetables and fruits?
Could they be freeze-dried, then reconstituted? Why can melons be frozen (honeydew, cantaloupe), but not tomatoes? I try to use canned tomatoes in my guacamole, but they are always mushy. Even though the can says diced, it's more like crushed.

Submerge the sliced avocado under water in a bowl. Change the water occasionally. That prevents oxidation.
