I'm curious as to the food safety risks, if any, associated with storing cracked eggshells and residue alongside un-cracked eggs.

For example, how safe is it to crack and use half a dozen eggs, put the shells back in the box before disposal at a later date (with egg white and possibly yolk), refrigerate the container, and use the remainder of the eggs in the next couple of weeks?

Welcome! Are you asking about the safety of other eggs in a container where one has been broken, for example? Or is there a different situation where you are keeping broken and whole eggs in the same place? The more specific your question, the better an answer you'll get (consider editing!) :) – Erica Dec 28 '18 at 17:37
