I was introduced to cooking on the farm, by making biscuits for Sunday mornings. When I moved away from home, I could heat up a can of soup and make mac-n-cheese. Ugh. It has been a long strange trip over the decades. I've worked as a flat-griddle cook in several kitchens and worked a pit BBQ here in Texas.
After my brainstem stroke, I'm the broken care person for my disabled wife, and we live in poverty. I had to shift to make better recipes out of less expensive ingredients, and I am working to transfer that to a cookbook to distribute to food banks and more.
