I hate cooking (to the point that I mostly just eat ingredients, things smeared on other things, and one-bowl microwave recipes), but have recently learned I love the science of baking. Complicated bread, experimental custards. I still have mixed feelings on pie crust.

I'm one of those bakers who won't work without a digital scale and stick thermometer, and I recently started a pet poolish (named Deadpoolish). If I ever successfully get a wild starter going, I'm naming it Jackaloaf, because I'm not sure it exists.
