What Recipes are More Hassle if You Only Have Rounded Knives?
Most kitchen knives have pointypointed tips. I can imagine trying to improve safety (e.g. if they're accidentally dropped) by rounding the tip. For example this, a paring knife.
The tip is might look like the most dangerous part ofone on the knife if you accidentally drop it. You don't wantright instead of the knife to stab you inone on the foot. One way to fix this safety issue is to make kitchen knives with rounded tips rather than pointy ones. They would look like this.left:
The tip has been rounded off to prevent it stabbing through your shoe if you drop it.
But I wonder what is lost on the culinary side? I cannot think of a recipe where the tip is essential. Usually when I need a pointy thing a fork works better than the tip of a knife. Certainly there are knives with less pronounced tips such as the Santoku stye knife and carving knife.
The first has a less pronounced tip but could still cut through your shoe. The second had a rounded tip but is a more specialized kind of knife.
Imagine you are in a world where tippeddon't have any knives are illegal and impossible to acquirewith pointed tips. What recipestasks become more of a hassle to prepareaccomplish?
