Alkali: if you use "washing soda" (ie baking soda heated to make it 10-times stronger base),...

Sort of to the title. The chemistry is quite incorrect though. Washing soda stays as washing soda in water, but you can't convert baking soda (bicarbonate) into washing soda (carbonate) or vice versa …
