Jan 20, 2023 at 10:44 comment added Billy Kerr TVP is somewhat similar to seitan. It's generally soy based. Don't think you could make it at home from scratch though. You'd need an extruder, a machine which works at high temperature and pressure. Not really worth the effort, since TVP is readily available.

You may also want to look into veggie burger recipes to make something that sort of accomplishes what you’re trying for… but be careful or you might recreate nutraloaf: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nutraloaf
